Work With Us

Prepare for Purpose exists to serve and support the local church.

We partner with church leadership to help mobilise the older generation — whom we honour by calling Legends (older believers, typically 60+, who carry lived faith, wisdom, and experience) — and to strengthen intergenerational connection within the church family.

We do not replace existing ministries, programmes, or leadership structures. We walk alongside churches as a resource, offering vision, equipping, and practical guidance.

How We Partner With Churches

The Prepare for Purpose journey typically includes three simple stages:

1. Vision Alignment

We begin with a conversation with church leadership to share the biblical vision behind Prepare for Purpose and to explore how bridging the generational gap could serve your church context.

This conversation helps clarify:

  • where the church is currently positioned

  • what resonates most strongly

  • whether hosting a Prepare for Purpose event would be a good fit

2. One-Day Seminar

If there is alignment, we facilitate a one-day Prepare for Purpose seminar hosted by the church.

This day typically includes:

  • Church leadership

  • Legends

  • Key youth or young adult leaders

The seminar is designed to:

  • Reignite purpose in the Legends

  • Help leaders see the value and potential already present in their church

  • Create shared understanding across generations

3. Next-Step Guidance

Following the seminar, we offer insight and support to help leadership formulate practical next steps.

Each church remains fully responsible for how intergenerational connection is established and sustained.

Prepare for Purpose simply offers guidance, encouragement, and resources as needed.

Practical Arrangements

Prepare for Purpose operates as a resource ministry to the Church.

When hosting Prepare for Purpose at your church or event, we ask that the inviting hosts cover:

  • Travel

  • Meals

  • Accommodation (if required)

These arrangements allow us to serve churches in a way that is sustainable and relational.

Financial Arrangements

We do not have set fees for our teachings, equipping, or ministry involvement unless otherwise specified. Instead, we trust God to provide for our living costs through:

  • churches we serve

  • ministry partners

  • financial contributors

Any financial support given is received as a gift, with gratitude, and without expectation or pressure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Prepare for Purpose a programme we must run long-term?

No. Prepare for Purpose is not a programme to maintain, but a process to ignite. Churches decide how to carry the vision forward in ways that suit their context.

Does this replace existing ministries?

Not at all. Prepare for Purpose strengthens what already exists by fostering connection between generations, not by restructuring age-specific ministries.

Is this only for people over 60?

The primary focus is to equip and mobilise Legends (older believers, typically 60+), but the vision and connection benefit the entire church family, including younger generations and leadership.

Do pastors and leaders need to attend the seminar?

Yes - leadership presence is essential. The vision works best when leaders, Legends, and younger leaders hear and process it together.

What happens after the one-day seminar?

Church leadership discerns next steps. Prepare for Purpose is available to offer guidance, resources, and support as needed, but implementation remains with the local church.

We only have a few legends in our small church. Can we still host PfP?

We would love to see all legends equipped and encouraged for purpose and meaning. If you are a small church with only a few legends, we suggest partnering with a few other churches in your area and hosting a joint 1-day event. This also provides an amazing opportunity for your legends to expand their social network.

Is Prepare for Purpose only available in South Africa?

At this stage, yes. Prepare for Purpose is currently focused on serving churches in South Africa while refining a broader blueprint for the future.

What does it cost to host the Prepare for Purpose event?

Unless otherwise specified, we at PfP do not have set fees for our teachings, personal ministry or equipping courses. We do, however, put our faith in God to cover our living costs through those we serve, those we partner with, and those who believe in our mission to the Church.

Any financial contributions or offerings collected are received with gratitude.

We serve local churches by equipping and mobilising Legends to strengthen unity, discipleship, and care across the church family
